Rabbit held to 50 grand web ransom

An unnamed man in the US is holding a rabbit to ransom, demanding USD50,000 (£26,500) or he will kill and eat it.
Toby, the bunny in question, has less than three months to live unless the mystery kidnapper’s demands are met.

The operator of web site savetoby.com refuses to identify himself because he says he is receiving death threats. He has set a deadline of June 30.

To date the, website claims to have raised around USD20,000 (£10,600).

“I don’t want to eat Toby,” the site operator writes on the home page.

“He is my friend, and he has always been the most loving, adorable pet. However, God as my witness, I will devour this little guy unless I receive USD50,000 into my account from donations or purchase of merchandise.”
